Hyderabad: Telangana activist Sattemma died at the age of 75 due to health complications at a hospital in Karimnagar on Sunday, and BRS working president KT Rama Rao later paid his last respects at her residence in Vemulawada mandal.
Popularly known as Telanganam Sattemma, she played a visible role in the movement for a separate Telangana state. Consequently, her death drew condolences from BRS leaders and local party functionaries.
KT Rama Rao visited her residence in the R&R colony near Agraharam and offered condolences to the family. He also recalled her contribution during the final phase of the Telangana statehood movement. Moreover, he said her dedication remained an inspiration for the younger generation.

Sattemma hailed from Cheerlavancha in Thangallapalli mandal. She became a committed supporter of KT Rama Rao in 2009 and regularly attended his meetings. Over time, she closely identified with the Telangana cause and earned recognition among party supporters.
Recently, she lived in the R&R colony after authorities allotted her a double-bedroom house. However, her health declined after her son died, which caused her deep distress. She later went to a hospital in Karimnagar, where she died while undergoing treatment for health complications.
Several leaders and local dignitaries attended her final rites. Among them were Vemulawada constituency in-charge Chalmeda Laxminarsimha Rao, former ZP chairperson Tula Uma, and BRS leader Enugu Manohar Reddy.
Overall, the death of Telangana activist Sattemma marked the passing of a figure remembered for her consistent presence in the Telangana movement and her long association with KT Rama Rao’s public meetings and political outreach.
