Hyderabad: Medaram temple works entered a crucial stage as Minister for Revenue, Housing, Information and Public Relations Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy directed officials to expedite final-phase development and reconstruction activities at the Sammakka-Saralamma temple in Mulugu district.
He instructed officials and contractors to complete the Medaram temple works within the stipulated timeline while maintaining quality standards. He also asked them to transform the temple premises into a grand space for devotees.
The Minister, along with Panchayati Raj Minister Danasari Anasuya Seethakka and several MLAs, visited Medaram and offered special prayers to the deities. Among those present were MLAs Tellam Venkata Rao, Payam Venkateswarlu, Koram Kanakaiah and Jare Adinarayana.
Medaram temple works progress reviewed at meeting
Later, the ministers held a review meeting at Haritha Hotel with officials to assess Medaram temple works. During the meeting, District Collector Divakar T.S. presented a detailed report on the progress of the final-phase development activities.
Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy directed officials to complete all pending works quickly while adhering to approved standards. He specifically asked them to ensure that all main arches included in the master plan were completed without delay.
Meanwhile, Minister Seethakka stressed that Medaram temple works must meet high quality standards. She said the development should create a pleasant and comfortable environment for devotees, especially those travelling from distant areas.
Subsequently, the ministers visited Narlapur village and inaugurated an Indiramma house belonging to Avula Lakshmi and Raju. The visit formed part of their broader inspection of development activities in the district.
The review of Medaram temple works highlighted the government’s focus on completing the project on time while ensuring facilities that can accommodate large numbers of devotees during major religious gatherings.
