Sridhar Babu rules out Singareni privatisation in Telangana

Hyderabad: Telangana Minister D. Sridhar Babu rejected allegations of Singareni privatisation, saying the government would never hand over the state-owned coal company to private parties. He assured workers that the government would protect Singareni’s interests.

Speaking at a media conference at the Congress Legislature Party office, Sridhar Babu accused the previous Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) government of harming the company. He alleged that the KCR family had treated Singareni as a personal enterprise during its decade in power.

The minister also blamed the previous government for leaving Singareni with substantial unpaid dues. According to him, those outstanding payments weakened the company’s financial position. He said the BRS leadership had damaged the organisation and questioned its current criticism of the government over workers’ welfare.

Sridhar Babu argued that leaders who had allegedly harmed the company during their tenure had little basis to raise concerns about its employees now.

Singareni privatisation claims rejected as opposition criticism

The minister dismissed the allegations as baseless and urged the public and Singareni workers not to believe them. He accused BRS leaders of attempting to damage the company’s reputation through repeated criticism.

Sridhar Babu said the Congress government had protected Singareni in the past and remained committed to safeguarding its interests. He reiterated that the government had no plans to privatise the company.

The minister also promised to operate the Yadadri power plant at full capacity. Furthermore, he warned that the government would not remain silent if anyone tried to discredit it with allegations unsupported by evidence.
