GHMC speeds up ₹1,090 crore Hyderabad steel flyover project

Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has accelerated preparations for a 4.3-km, six-lane steel flyover corridor between Jubilee Hills Checkpost and NFCL Junction. GHMC Commissioner R.V. Karnan inspected the proposed route with Khairatabad Zonal Commissioner B. Santosh and engineering officials. The ₹1,090 crore project aims to reduce congestion and provide smoother, signal-free travel.

During the inspection, Karnan directed officials to expedite junction improvements at KBR Park Main Entrance, Agrasen Junction and Jubilee Hills Checkpost. These upgrades will help ensure smoother one-way traffic movement around KBR Park.

In addition, the commissioner instructed officials to begin geotechnical investigations immediately between Mugdha Junction and NFCL Junction. These investigations will support preparations for the proposed corridor.

Hyderabad steel flyover project focuses on faster execution

Karnan also directed engineering teams to speed up foundation excavation between Jubilee Hills Checkpost and Mugdha Junction. Meanwhile, officials must advance off-site steel fabrication alongside the foundation work to keep construction activities moving in parallel.

The commissioner stressed that teams must complete the work on schedule while minimising inconvenience to the public. The proposed corridor will carry traffic in both directions across six lanes.

Once completed, the Hyderabad steel flyover is expected to improve connectivity between Jubilee Hills Checkpost and NFCL Junction. Furthermore, the signal-free corridor aims to ease congestion and improve traffic movement along the route.
