Six killed in ORR crash near Shamshabad after car hits lorry

Hyderabad: Six persons died in an ORR crash Shamshabad after a car rammed into a stationary lorry near Exit-16 on Friday.

The accident occurred on the Outer Ring Road near Shamshabad. Police said the impact was severe, and the car got lodged beneath the lorry.

Rescue teams rushed to the spot and began operations immediately. However, they struggled to extricate the victims from the mangled vehicle.

All seven victims belonged to the same family from Sircilla. They were returning to Hyderabad after visiting Yadagirigutta Temple.

Police said the collision caused extensive damage to the vehicle. As a result, rescuers faced difficulty in retrieving the bodies.

Police suspect overspeeding as the primary cause of the accident. Therefore, they are examining the circumstances leading to the crash.

Officials said the car rammed into a stationary lorry at high speed. The force of the impact pushed the vehicle underneath the truck.
