Hyderabad: Hyderabad Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar said on Sunday night that the Special Investigation Team had completed questioning Gajwel MLA and former chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao in the phone-tapping case.
In a post on X, Sajjanar said the SIT questioned KCR as part of the ongoing probe. He stated that the investigation was proceeding strictly as per the law. He also said the inquiry was being conducted fairly and impartially.
The clarification came as the high-profile case continued to draw nationwide attention. Political focus around the probe remained intense across Telangana.
Phone tapping case probe continues, police say
Officials said the Special Investigation Team had earlier questioned several senior officers who served during the previous government. The SIT had also examined top BRS leaders in earlier stages of the investigation.
According to police sources, the phone tapping case took new turns at each stage. Investigators are analysing statements and technical evidence related to the probe.
Officials said further inquiry could reveal more crucial facts. They reiterated that the SIT would proceed strictly on evidence and follow due legal process.
