Seven injured as sound system collapses at AIMPLB protest meet in Zaheerabad

Zaheerabad: Seven individuals sustained injuries when a sound system structure collapsed during a public meeting organised by the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) in Zaheerabad. The event was part of an ongoing campaign opposing the proposed amendments to the Waqf Act.

The incident took place midway through the session, causing a brief panic and halting the event temporarily. Those who were injured were quickly taken to nearby hospitals in Zaheerabad and Sangareddy, where they’re now being treated.

Advisor to Telangana Government Mohammed Ali Shabbir, Zaheerabad MP Suresh Kumar Shetkar, Karwan MLA Kausar Mohiuddin and other leaders visited the hospitals to meet the injured persons and assured all assistance.

The injured individuals include Mohd. Qadeer Rahman, Md. Aleemuddin, Mohd. Naseeruddin, Mohd. Adnan, Mohd. Abdul Rahman, Mohd. Hussain (journalist, 4TV Channel) and Mohd. Majeed.

Six of the injured were admitted to Sanrohi Hospital in Zaheerabad, while one was taken to a private facility in Sangareddy for further care. Medical teams have confirmed that none of the injuries are life-threatening.

Despite the chaos, the meeting resumed not long after first aid was given to those hurt. Several well-known religious and community leaders continued with their speeches, speaking out strongly against the Waqf Amendment Act and vowing to ramp up their protest efforts.
