Seethakka unveils Indira Mahila Shakti stall showcasing Telangana women’s enterprise

Hyderabad: Minister for Panchayati Raj, Rural Development and Women and Child Welfare Danasari Anasuya Seethakka on Monday inaugurated the Indira Mahila Shakti stall at the Telangana Rising Global Summit in Bharat Future City. The showcase highlights the success and scale of women-led enterprises across Telangana.

Seethakka described women as the driving force behind social development. “If a woman grows, the family, society and the state grow,” she said. The stall, she added, represents the self-confidence and perseverance of Telangana women.

Telangana women deliver corporate-level services

Jointly organised by SERP and the Women and Child Welfare department, the stall featured models such as women-run petrol pumps, Shakti canteens, Mahila Shakti Bazaar in Hi-Tech City, district-level support centres, and RTC buses managed by women groups. Seethakka noted that these rural women groups were now delivering services at a corporate level.

Documentaries screening at the stall showcased the transformation of rural women into entrepreneurs on global platforms. “One opportunity to a woman returns tenfold to society,” Seethakka said.

She highlighted the state’s major financial security schemes, including bank linkage loans, interest reimbursements, ₹10 lakh loan insurance, and ₹2 lakh accident insurance. She called these measures “historic decisions” that were changing lives across Telangana.

Vision to expand women-led businesses in 20 sectors

Seethakka said the state government plans to expand women’s self-help group activities into over 20 business sectors. She said the Indira Mahila Shakti stall reflects Telangana’s vision of becoming a national model for women-led economic empowerment.

The stall has emerged as a standout feature of the summit, drawing attention from both national and international delegates. “This is Telangana’s message to the world our women are ready to lead,” she concluded.
