Hyderabad: South Central Railway conducted a Train safety review across the zone on Monday, with General Manager Sanjay Kumar Srivastava directing officials to strengthen safety measures and speed up critical monitoring initiatives.

Srivastava chaired the review meeting at Rail Nilayam in Secunderabad. Additional General Manager Satya Prakash and Principal Heads of Departments attended the meeting. Divisional Railway Managers from Secunderabad, Hyderabad and Nanded divisions joined through video conferencing.

The General Manager reviewed the overall safety performance of the zone and stressed the need to implement all safety precautions before undertaking track maintenance works.

He said railway personnel must follow safety protocols strictly to prevent accidents and ensure smooth train operations.

Train safety review focuses on inspections

Srivastava reviewed the fire safety drive carried out across all divisions. He also examined reports on night inspections conducted during May by officials from engineering, security, safety and operating departments.

Additionally, he assessed the progress of CCTV camera installation at private sidings and goods sheds. He instructed officials to accelerate the works and complete the pending tasks at the earliest.

The General Manager also reviewed refresher training programmes for running staff, including loco pilots, assistant loco pilots and train managers.

According to railway officials, the courses aim to keep employees updated on the latest operational procedures and safe working practices.

Train safety review held alongside Rail Samachar launch

Earlier in the day, Srivastava launched SCR Rail Samachar, the official news bulletin of South Central Railway.

The bulletin will be published every fortnight on the railway zone’s social media platforms, including YouTube, X, Facebook, Instagram and Public App.

Railway officials said the bulletin will provide updates on infrastructure projects, innovations, achievements, operational developments and performance highlights across the zone.

Srivastava appreciated the Public Relations Department for launching the initiative. He also encouraged railway stakeholders and passengers to follow the bulletin for regular updates on South Central Railway activities.
