Hyderabad: General Manager, South Central Railway Sanjay Kumar Srivastava presented Employee of the Month awards to 13 employees for their alertness in ensuring railway safety during a review meeting held at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad on April 27.
The Employee of the Month awards recognised frontline staff who prevented unsafe conditions in train operations. The meeting reaffirmed South Central Railway’s focus on safety and operational vigilance.
Employee of the Month awards recognise safety vigilance
Sanjay Kumar Srivastava presented the Employee of the Month awards to staff including track maintainers, pointsmen, technicians, train managers, station masters and loco pilots. The recognition highlighted their alertness, punctuality and dedication to duty.
Division-wise, Secunderabad accounted for three awardees, while Vijayawada had seven recipients. Guntur division had one awardee, and Guntakal division had two.
Additional General Manager Satya Prakash attended the meeting along with principal heads of departments. Divisional Railway Managers of Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur and Nanded divisions joined through video conference.
Congratulating the awardees, the General Manager said such recognition would motivate employees to maintain vigilance and uphold safety standards in railway operations.
Employee of the Month awards highlight summer safety focus
During the review, Sanjay Kumar Srivastava stressed proactive steps to ensure safety during the peak summer season. He directed officials to strengthen track infrastructure to withstand extreme heat and ensure uninterrupted operations.
He also instructed officials to conduct regular inspections, prioritise ballast recouping and filling, and maintain track stability. In addition, he called for detailed fire risk analysis and corrective measures to prevent fire incidents in trains.
The General Manager emphasised that safety standards must not be compromised. He urged officials to sensitise staff on safety protocols, strengthen fire safety systems, inspect points and crossings, and remove construction materials near tracks after completion of works.
