Ponguleti directs faster disposal of Sadabainama applications

Hyderabad: Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy directed officials to accelerate the disposal of pending Sadabainama applications and ensure timely relief to eligible applicants across Telangana.

The minister said the government is committed to providing legal protection and clear ownership rights to farmers’ lands.

During a teleconference with revenue officials on Monday, he said the government is giving top priority to resolving land-related issues under the leadership of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy.

Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy said authorities issued 3.65 lakh passbooks across the state since the Bhubharati Act came into force on April 14, 2025.

He said the government simplified the system to ensure farmers receive passbooks quickly after submitting applications.

The minister also instructed officials to provide services without forcing applicants to make repeated visits to revenue offices.

Sadabainama applications review highlights pending cases

Meanwhile, Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy reviewed the implementation of survey-map-linked registrations being carried out on a pilot basis in five mandals.

Officials informed him that the system was functioning smoothly.

Therefore, he directed authorities to prepare for the second phase of implementation.

Under the plan, the government intends to introduce the integrated Bhubharati system in one mandal in every district.

Further, the minister reviewed the status of pending Sadabainama applications across the state.

Officials informed him that they had issued notices to six lakh applicants out of the total 9.25 lakh applications received.

He directed them to issue notices for the remaining applications within the next 15 days.

Thereafter, officials should process eligible applications after the prescribed 30-day period.

Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy criticised the previous government for neglecting the Sadabainama issue.

He said thousands of applicants faced difficulties because the 2020 Record of Rights Act lacked adequate provisions for resolving such cases.

However, he said the present government amended the rules on the directions of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy.

The changes, he added, are helping ensure justice for eligible applicants.
