Hyderabad: Telangana Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao on Monday said Rythu Bharosa deposits reached ₹7,490.72 crore after the government credited the amount to the bank accounts of 68.37 lakh farmers within six days.
The Minister said the Congress government was fulfilling its promise to farmers by releasing financial assistance at a record pace. Moreover, he said the Rythu Bharosa programme had continued to benefit cultivators across the state since its launch on June 30.
Rythu Bharosa deposits expand farmer coverage
According to Tummala Nageswara Rao, the scheme has so far covered 124.85 lakh acres of cultivable land. Additionally, the latest phase extended financial assistance to farmers owning between six and seven acres of cultivable land.
Furthermore, the Minister said the government had completed financial support for all eligible farmers holding up to seven acres under the current phase of the scheme.
