CM Revanth seeks public backing to pressure Centre for Telangana funds

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Friday urged public support to press the union government for more funds to accelerate the state’s development.

“I am ready to fight in Delhi if people stand by me to get more funds for the state,” he declared at a public meeting in Narsampet, after laying foundation stones for several development projects.

Revanth seeks public backing, slams BRS, promises growth in Warangal

Revanth accused the previous BRS regime of prioritizing personal gain over welfare. He said they stalled ration card distribution and threatened farmers, especially during paddy cultivation seasons. He also claimed BRS neglected Narsampet’s development.

Calling for decorum in public discourse, he criticized BRS leaders for remaining defiant even after losing the Jubilee Hills by-election.

On employment, Revanth said his administration filled 60,000 posts in the first year and would soon release notifications for 40,000 more. He encouraged the youth to prepare diligently for the upcoming recruitment drives.

Addressing the Gram Panchayat elections, he urged contestants to avoid excessive spending and focus on winning the people’s trust. He appealed to voters to choose Sarpanches who would work in tandem with MLAs and ministers.

Big boost for infrastructure, agriculture, and women’s welfare

Revanth announced major infrastructure projects for Warangal, including an outer ring road, underground drainage system, and a new airport. All three works are slated to begin by March 31.

In agriculture, he highlighted the ₹9,000 crore disbursed under Rythu Bharosa to over 25.35 lakh farmers in just nine days. He said Telangana has emerged as the top rice-producing state in India, with fine rice distributed to 3.10 crore people annually at a cost of ₹13,000 crore.

He recalled that the Congress government built 25 lakh Indiramma houses between 2004 and 2014. Now, his administration is constructing 3,500 houses per constituency at a cost of ₹22,500 crore. He assigned the responsibility for another 3,500 houses in Narsampet to Housing Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy.

The CM also praised former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru for laying the foundation of India’s higher education and irrigation infrastructure.

Government aims to empower one crore women

Revanth reiterated his commitment to making one crore women financially self-reliant. Key schemes include free travel in RTC buses, bus ownership for women groups, petrol pump and solar plant operations, and the distribution of one crore Indiramma sarees. He directed all MLAs to ensure that every woman above 18 receives a saree.

He concluded by stressing that the Telangana Rising Global Summit would showcase the state as a hub for global investment, backed by robust networks of ports, airports, roads, and digital infrastructure.
