Hyderabad: Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Thursday held a review meeting with ministers, collectors, and senior officials on the impact of the Montha cyclone. He directed them to stay in the field, monitor relief work closely, and assist affected families without delay.
Revanth Reddy Montha cyclone meeting focuses on paddy protection and coordination
The Chief Minister led the video conference from Hyderabad. Ministers Tummala Nageswara Rao, Ponnam Prabhakar, Uttam Kumar Reddy, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, Konda Surekha, and Vakati Sridhari attended. Chief Secretary Ramakrishna Rao, Principal Secretary Seshadri, DGP Shivadhar Reddy, and district collectors joined as well.
Revanth Reddy asked the Civil Supplies Department to issue timely directions to all collectors. “Treat paddy procurement as a top priority,” he said. Each purchase centre must have a mandal-level officer in charge. He also directed the transport of soaked grain to nearby function halls for safe storage.
CM orders strict daily reporting and accountability
The Chief Minister instructed every centre to submit a 24-hour status report to the collector daily. “If any officer neglects this, take immediate action,” he warned. Therefore, officials must stay alert and act fast to prevent further losses.
He also told district collectors and SPs to create joint monitoring centres. These units will track field operations, traffic conditions, and relief progress in real time. Meanwhile, he asked road and irrigation officials to review damaged roads regularly and divert traffic where necessary.
Early alerts for flood-prone zones and irrigation sites
Revanth Reddy instructed officers to alert residents living near tanks, streams, and irrigation points. He said that identifying danger zones early could save lives and prevent property damage. The Chief Minister also asked irrigation officials to inspect low-level culverts and minor projects frequently.
Later, Revanth Reddy announced that he would conduct an aerial survey with ministers to assess ground conditions in cyclone-hit districts. “We will review every affected area,” he added.
