Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy will launch Phase-II of the Indiramma Housing Scheme on Monday, expanding the Telangana government’s flagship housing programme for economically weaker families.
The Chief Minister will visit Kumram Bheem-Asifabad district to participate in events related to the housing initiative. The programme marks the next stage of the Indiramma Housing Scheme as beneficiaries under the first phase prepare to move into completed houses.
At Kothaguda, Revanth Reddy will join beneficiaries during a mass housewarming ceremony for families whose homes were completed under the first phase.
Later, he will address a public meeting at Kagaznagar X-Roads and formally launch the second phase of the programme.
Indiramma Housing Scheme enters second phase
District authorities have made extensive arrangements for the Chief Minister’s visit. Adilabad district in-charge Minister Jupally Krishna Rao reached Kagaznagar on Sunday to oversee preparations for the event.
After travelling from Secunderabad on the Vande Bharat Express, the minister reviewed arrangements and interacted with passengers during the journey.
Krishna Rao is scheduled to inspect the public meeting venue, parking facilities, helipad and stage arrangements. He will also conduct a review meeting with district officials to assess preparedness.
The first phase of the Indiramma Housing Scheme included construction works for 4.5 lakh houses across Telangana.
Building on that progress, the government has targeted construction of another 2.5 lakh houses under the second phase.
Officials said the launch from Kumram Bheem-Asifabad district highlights the government’s focus on providing permanent housing to poor and deserving families. They added that the initiative aims to improve living standards and expand housing access across the state.
