Hyderabad: Revenue, Housing and Information & Public Relations Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy said the Revanth Reddy-led government had shown a clear new direction to Telangana within just two years of coming to power.
On Friday, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy addressed district public relations officers at refresher classes organised by the Information and Public Relations Department and the Media Academy at Nampally. He attended the programme as the chief guest.
He said people had voted for change by trusting the Congress party. According to him, the government delivered that change within a short time and upheld public confidence.

Recalling the situation at the time of assuming office, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy said Telangana faced a severe crisis across sectors. However, he said the government overcame those challenges step by step.
As a result, development and welfare programmes gained momentum across the state. He said the administration restored stability while accelerating growth.
Referring to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s vision, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy said the government implemented several welfare schemes to support the poor. He added that decisions in agriculture, education, healthcare, housing, fine rice distribution, ration cards and employment generation made Telangana a national model.
At the same time, the minister said government initiatives were not reaching people as expected. Therefore, he stressed the need to strengthen the role of public relations officers as a bridge between the government and citizens.
He advised officials to align with changing media trends and coordinate with print, electronic and digital platforms. Moreover, he said social media should serve as a powerful tool to publicise welfare and development programmes.
The minister also directed officers to visit the field and document the successful implementation of schemes. He said creative communication would help people understand government initiatives better.
Additionally, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy instructed the I&PR Commissioner to appoint efficient DPR officers in every district. He ordered the cancellation of deputations from other departments and called for timely promotions for eligible staff.
