Revanth Reddy demands fuel price rollback

ddyHyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy demanded an immediate fuel price rollback after the Centre raised petrol and diesel prices across the country.

He said the decision amounted to a betrayal of public trust. In a post on X, Revanth Reddy said the price rise had hit ordinary people hard.

He alleged that the Modi government used the Iran-Israel war as an excuse to raise fuel prices. He said the move had burdened citizens already facing rising costs.

Fuel price rollback demand after elections

Revanth Reddy said the Centre had repeatedly assured voters that fuel prices would not rise before recent elections. The polls were held in four states and one Union Territory.

However, he said the government raised prices within 10 days of the results. He described the decision as a clear breach of faith.

Revath Reddy also criticised the Centre’s economic management. He alleged that the country’s economy had weakened due to poor governance and flawed policies.

Revanth Reddy said the rupee had fallen sharply over the past decade. He added that “Atmanirbhar Bharat” remained only an election slogan.

He said small and medium industries had suffered, while young people were losing employment. Therefore, he questioned how the Centre could claim it had made India the third-largest economy.

Revanth Reddy again demanded a fuel price rollback. He said the increased petrol and diesel prices should be withdrawn immediately.
