Hyderabad: Former Boath MLA Rathod Bapurao announced that he had joined Telangana Jagruthi under the leadership of Kalvakuntla Kavitha, signalling his support for a new political platform in the state.
Kavitha formally welcomed him at the Telangana Jagruthi office in Banjara Hills. She said several leaders from different districts were preparing to join the new party and added that activists from the Telangana movement were looking towards an alternative political force.
Bapurao said he had resigned from his job to work for Telangana statehood, hoping for better opportunities after its formation. He recalled working in the Boath constituency and said Kavitha’s encouragement had influenced his decision to enter politics. He added that he had been elected MLA twice but was denied a ticket for a third term.
He also said he had joined the Congress earlier, but did not receive due importance. He announced plans to organise a large public meeting in Ichoda after the new party is formally launched to mobilise supporters.

Kavitha said Bapurao had actively worked during the Telangana movement after leaving his job and later became an MLA twice. She noted that he had earlier entered the BRS through Telangana Jagruthi.
She recalled organising a week-long medical camp in the undivided Adilabad district in 2006, where she interacted with local communities. She said the new political platform would gain strong support in the region.
Kavitha urged activists to unite again with the same spirit that drove the Telangana movement. She called on people to move away from established parties and join the new initiative aimed at the state’s development.
