Hyderabad: Telangana BJP president N. Ramchander Rao on Wednesday said politics public service should extend beyond elections and votes, with selfless service remaining a key objective.
Rao made the remarks at a mega blood donation camp organised by the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha at Nagole. The BJYM organised the camp as part of its ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’. The programme marked Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 25 years in public life as Chief Minister and Prime Minister.
Rao inaugurated the camp and also donated blood. He said serving society without expecting anything in return provided a sense of satisfaction. Moreover, he urged political leaders and young people to make public service an integral part of their activities.
Politics public service message highlighted at camp
Rao said the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ sought to promote a spirit of service among people. He also praised Modi’s contribution to education and youth welfare. In particular, Rao cited the expansion of IITs, AIIMS, IIMs and other higher education institutions under the Modi government.
Rao also appreciated the BJYM initiative to facilitate blood donations by 25,000 youth across Telangana. Meanwhile, he recalled donating blood several times since his student days. He appealed to more young people to participate in blood donation drives.
The politics public service message formed the central theme of Rao’s address at the Nagole programme. MP Eatala Rajender and MLC Malka Komuraiah attended the programme.
BJP State General Secretary (Organisation) Chandrashekhar Tiwari also participated. In addition, State General Secretaries Dr N. Gautam Rao and Veerender Goud attended the event. State Vice Presidents Kasam Venkateshwarlu and Banda Karthika Reddy were also present.
BJYM State president Ganesh Kunde joined the programme along with other BJP leaders and workers. Rao urged political leaders and youth to continue service-oriented activities beyond electoral politics. Furthermore, he called for greater participation by young people in voluntary blood donation.
