Hyderabad: Telangana BJP president N. Ramchander Rao said public trust growing BJP was evident as lawyers and youth leaders from other parties joined the party at its state office.
Several leaders from the Bharat Rashtra Samithi and the Indian Youth Congress enrolled in the BJP in his presence. The party welcomed them with scarves at a programme held in Hyderabad. Rao said people, especially youth, were voluntarily joining the BJP because of governance under Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He claimed they believed only the BJP could protect India’s culture, unity, integrity and Dharma.
Rao strongly criticised a recent semi-nude protest by Youth Congress workers during the AI Summit 2026 in New Delhi. He termed the act shameful and alleged it damaged the country’s global image. He accused the Congress of turning the summit into an “Abuse India, Anti-India programme.” He further alleged that Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi had orchestrated the protest and demanded an apology.
Public trust growing for BJP amid Operation Kagar claims
Referring to Operation Kagar, Rao said several Naxalites were surrendering across the country. He stated that top Maoist leaders in Telangana had laid down arms due to firm action by the Centre against Left-Wing Extremism. He added that the government aimed to make the country Naxal-free by March 31 this year.
Rao also criticised what he described as pseudo-secularists and urban naxals, alleging they were influencing students and politicising universities. He claimed communism was declining globally and cited developments in China and the former Soviet Union.
Among those who joined were former BRS corporator contestants Lankala Ramesh Reddy, Vijeshwar Reddy and Pradeep Reddy, along with Youth Congress leaders Shivashankar, Venugopal Reddy, Shivaprasad and Naresh Kumar. Advocate Shivakumar and his team also enrolled. BJP Rangareddy Urban District president Vanipalli Srinivas Reddy and Kukatpally in-charge Madhavaram Kantha Rao organised the event, which senior BJP leaders attended.
