Hyderabad: Telangana BJP President N. Ramchander Rao on Friday said Veer Baal Diwas served not only as a remembrance of sacrifice but also as a reaffirmation of India’s values courage, Dharma, and resistance to injustice.
Speaking at a special gathering at Secunderabad Gurudwara, Rao paid tribute to the martyrdom of Sahibzada Baba Zorawar Singh Ji and Sahibzada Baba Fateh Singh Ji. He described their sacrifice as among the most inspiring episodes in Indian history. It proves that age is no barrier to bravery or moral conviction.
PM Modi’s vision delivered concrete support to Sikh community
Rao emphasized that the NDA government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi had consistently honoured Sikh sentiments since 2014. He said the Centre had taken decisive action to deliver justice in the 1984 anti-Sikh riot cases. This brought accountability and relief to affected families.
He also highlighted initiatives like the ‘Seva Bhoj Yojana’, which exempts GST on food items used in Gurudwara Langars. The scheme reimburses central taxes at a cost of ₹325 crore annually, supporting daily meals for nearly one crore people. Rao added that the opening of the Kartarpur Corridor fulfilled a decades-long demand, allowing pilgrims year-round access to Kartarpur Sahib.
“These initiatives reflect Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas’,” Rao said. “They demonstrate respect for the faith, heritage, and aspirations of every community.”
He also praised BJP Minority Morcha President Jagmohan Singh for strengthening ties with the Sikh community. Concluding his remarks, Rao urged citizens to embrace the legacy of the Veer Sahibzades—one rooted in courage, service, and national unity.
