Hyderabad: India paid glowing tributes to former President Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam on his birth anniversary. Leaders across the nation remembered his work, vision, and lasting service to science and the country.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said Dr Kalam was a Rashtra Ratna even before he became Rashtrapati. Moreover, he added that Kalam’s life reminds people that hard work and humility lead to true success.

In a post on X, the Prime Minister wrote that Dr Kalam inspired millions to dream big and serve India with dedication. He also shared a video message celebrating the late President’s legacy and vision.
Modi further said Kalam’s life “fills us with pride and longing.” He added that his teachings will continue to guide India toward strength and compassion.
Dr Kalam was born in 1931 in Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu. Despite humble beginnings, he became a noted aerospace scientist and later the 11th President of India. Known as the “Missile Man of India,” he also played a key role in the Pokhran-II nuclear tests of 1998. Therefore, his leadership strengthened India’s standing in defence and technology.
Leaders recall Dr Kalam’s scientific and moral legacy
Union Home Minister Amit Shah described Dr Kalam as a “scientific genius.” He said Kalam’s patriotism and vision advanced India’s progress in science, defence, and innovation.
Meanwhile, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh called him a “visionary scientist and true patriot.” He stated that Dr Kalam’s focus on youth and innovation made India more self-reliant.
Jammu and Kashmir Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha remembered Dr Kalam as “a man of simplicity, integrity, and wisdom.” In addition, he said Kalam’s ideals still guide the country’s path forward.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said, “Dr Kalam’s contribution to India’s security and science will always remain unmatched.” Moreover, he noted that Kalam always placed the nation above everything else.
Across India, leaders, institutions, and citizens celebrated Dr Kalam as a teacher, scientist, and “People’s President.” Consequently, his life continues to inspire generations to dream and build a stronger India.
