Family alleges negligence after mother and newborn fall critical

Hyderabad: The family of a woman alleged medical negligence after the mother and newborn developed critical health complications following a delivery at the Mother and Child Hospital in the Ramavaram area. They demanded an immediate inquiry and action against those found responsible.

According to family members, Thati Bhavani, a resident of Kummaripadu village under Chaparalapalli Gram Panchayat, was admitted to the hospital for childbirth. After the delivery, the health condition of both the mother and the baby reportedly deteriorated.

The family said the two were shifted to another hospital for advanced treatment. They alleged that negligence by the medical staff during the delivery led to the complications. However, the hospital authorities had not commented on the allegations.

Probe sought into mother and newborn treatment

Family members said Bhavani was battling for her life, while the newborn was also undergoing treatment in critical condition.

They expressed disappointment that no action had been taken against those allegedly responsible. Moreover, they urged district medical and health officials to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident and determine whether any medical negligence had occurred.

The family and villagers also called for stricter monitoring of maternity hospitals to prevent similar incidents in the future. They demanded appropriate action if the inquiry establishes negligence by hospital staff.
