Hyderabad: Miss Canada Emma Morrison has heaped praise on Hyderabad, describing it as a truly beautiful city with hospitality that she said stands out globally. Speaking during her visit for the Miss World pageant, Morrison shared her impressions of the city, from its scenic routes to the cultural warmth she encountered from the moment she arrived.
She noted that the stretch from the airport to the hotel brought back memories of Canada itself, with the pleasant weather and vibrant surroundings. Telangana’s government, she added, had gone above and beyond in hosting international participants, especially with the array of exquisite food on offer.
Calling the local cuisine “unmatched,” Morrison said that every dish presented to her felt carefully curated and deeply flavourful. She stressed that the Miss World pageant isn’t merely a contest of beauty, but an experience that exposes contestants to parts of the world they might otherwise never see.
Morrison expressed particular excitement upon learning the event would be hosted in Hyderabad, saying it thrilled her to explore the region’s rich history and heritage. Representatives from the Trident Hotel, where she is staying, reportedly gave her a detailed account of the city’s cultural legacy something she said she’s eager to witness firsthand.
Speaking to a Telugu news channel, Morrison also revealed that since winning her crown, she has donated $10,000 USD to a charitable organisation and launched her own fundraising platform. She reflected on the legacy of past Miss World winners, saying they weren’t just beauty icons but role models who achieved remarkable success in both their personal and professional lives.
“Becoming Miss World isn’t just a matter of pride,” she said, “it’s a matter of responsibility.”
