Hyderabad: Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister Seethakka reviewed the Malluru temple development plan to improve facilities for devotees. She held the meeting with officials at the state Secretariat on Saturday.
The review focused on the ancient Malluru Hemachala Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple. Officials discussed the temple’s present condition, pilgrim movement, available facilities and future requirements.
Devadaya and Endowments Commissioner Hanumantha Rao, architects and other officials attended the meeting. Seethakka directed them to plan improvements according to the site’s historical and spiritual significance.
She stressed that the works should improve facilities without affecting the temple’s main structure. At the same time, officials must protect the sanctity of the temple premises while planning new infrastructure.
Malluru temple development to include pilgrim facilities
As part of the Malluru temple development plan, officials discussed a Kalyana Mandapam, dormitory and Annadanam centre. Basic infrastructure required by devotees will also form part of the development programme.
Seethakka directed architects and officials to prepare an integrated plan after considering the temple’s architectural character and surrounding area. The plan must also address the requirements of devotees visiting the shrine.
Meanwhile, officials decided to conduct a field visit to the Malluru Hemachala Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple soon. The team will assess the site conditions before finalising the development design.
After the field inspection, officials will finalise a suitable design for the temple development works. The process will take into account the existing structure and the characteristics of the surrounding area.
Officials also decided to conduct a rock test at the earliest. The test will assess ground conditions and construction capacity for the proposed structures.
Based on the rock test report, officials will finalise the technical aspects of subsequent construction works. Seethakka directed the department to maintain quality standards throughout the project.
She also asked officials to coordinate the works so that devotees face no inconvenience. The development plan will seek to provide essential facilities while preserving the temple’s spiritual character.
