MP Mallu Ravi slams BRS, praises CM Revanth Reddy’s governance

HYDERABAD: Congress MP Mallu Ravi launched a sharp attack on the BRS and its leadership, stating that it was the people’s uprising that brought down the decade-long BRS rule in Telangana. He questioned BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao’s apparent frustration with Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s governance, saying it stems from the fact that real development is now taking place.

“Over the past ten years, the promise of a Bangaru Telangana turned into a golden era only for the KCR family,” Mallu Ravi remarked. He accused the opposition of spending day and night spreading misinformation about the Congress government instead of addressing people’s issues.

He criticised KTR’s comparison of Telangana’s situation to a public revolt in Bangladesh, calling it “shameful and baseless,” and asked what relevance that comment had to the state’s current progress.

Highlighting Congress achievements, Ravi said that CM Revanth Reddy has undertaken initiatives in just over a year that BRS failed to deliver in a decade. “For the first time in India’s history, the government has started distributing fine rice to the poor,” he said, calling the move a revolutionary step.

He lauded the launch of upgraded Gurukula schools with ₹200 crore in funding and hailed the vision of “world-class education and infrastructure” introduced by Revanth Reddy’s administration. He also praised the Young India Integrated Schools initiative, which aims to elevate the state’s education standards.

Ravi noted that BC representation had been strengthened under Revanth Reddy’s leadership, with one lakh government jobs now aligned with caste-based enumeration and legal backing for inclusivity.

“All sections of society are children of Telangana Mata,” he said, refuting divisive narratives. He questioned KTR’s attempt to link Telangana’s progress to the Bangladesh uprising, asking, “What connection does that even have?”

He criticised the Dharani portal, introduced by the BRS, for causing distress to farmers—stating that over 16 lakh people continue to suffer due to its inefficiencies. In contrast, CM Revanth and his ministers have introduced Bhoobharati, a more inclusive land management platform aimed at benefiting both farmers and officials.

Mallu Ravi also drew a contrast between the public’s access to power under both regimes. “Under BRS, Pragathi Bhavan was barricaded from the people. But under Revanth’s leadership, its gates have been thrown open to ensure public access,” he said.

He pointed out that over 60,000 jobs have been provided within the first year-and-a-half of Congress rule, affirming that Revanth Reddy’s administration is people-centric and grounded in democratic values.
