Hyderabad: Police arrested three men in connection with the Mailardevpally murder case involving Mohammed Abdul Rauf. The arrests followed a probe into his killing on 02.09.2026.
The accused were identified as Mohammed Javeed @ Hekla Javeed, Mohammed Abdullah and Shaik Arif. According to police, Javeed developed a grudge against Rauf over his alleged role in Sajid’s death.
Sajid, identified as Javeed’s younger brother, had died in Karnataka on 19.05.2024. Police said Javeed also alleged that Rauf had threatened and mocked him and his associates.
During interrogation, the accused reportedly told police that they had planned to kill Rauf. Subsequently, the three men allegedly intercepted him while he travelled in his auto.
The attack took place at about 23:00 hours on 02.09.2026, according to the police account. The accused allegedly used pepper spray before attacking Rauf with knives.
Police said the assault caused multiple stab injuries and resulted in Rauf’s death. After the attack, the accused allegedly escaped from the scene and discarded the weapons and other material.
They reportedly left the weapons, blood-stained clothes and pepper spray bottles in bushes near Palle Cheruvu. Meanwhile, police continued the investigation and traced the accused after the incident.
Mailardevpally murder case: Police recover phone and material
On 04.09.2026 at about 06:00 hours, police apprehended the three accused near Aramghar. They were allegedly attempting to flee towards Basavakalyan in Karnataka when police caught them.
During the investigation, police recovered the deceased’s mobile phone and other articles from Mohammed Javeed. The accused also disclosed the location where they had allegedly discarded the weapons and other material objects.
The investigation further revealed the criminal case history of the accused, according to the police. Mohammad Javeed was reportedly involved in 180 cases registered in Hyderabad, surrounding districts and Karnataka.
Mohammad Arif was reportedly involved in three cases, while Mohammad Abdullah was involved in one case. The information was released by DCP Rajendranagar, Hyderabad, in the police press note.
