Hyderabad: BJP MP Dr. K. Laxman on Saturday accused Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy of leading what he called a massive industrial land scam. He alleged that the Congress government is diverting public land to corporate groups under the false cover of policy reforms.
Speaking at a press conference in Delhi, Laxman said, “This is no reform—it’s a strategic scam designed to generate commissions for political allies in Delhi.”
BJP urges immediate policy withdrawal
Laxman demanded that the state cabinet withdraw the policy facilitating forced acquisition and sale of industrial land. He insisted that public land must serve public welfare—not private profit.
He further alleged that the Chief Minister is using land sales to curry favor with business elites. Meanwhile, basic development priorities are ignored. Recalling past incidents, Laxman said the BRS regime had tried to take over lands like Indira Park and NTR Stadium. However, public resistance blocked such efforts.
Party assesses recent defeat, plans electoral rebound
On party affairs, Laxman said he had no information about any notice served by the BJP high command to a Telangana MP. Addressing the Jubilee Hills bypoll loss, he stated that the party is conducting a full review to understand its mistakes. They plan to apply corrective strategies going forward.
Despite the setback, Laxman expressed optimism about the party’s prospects in upcoming by-elections. He said BJP expects decisive victories, especially in constituencies where MLAs have defected.
Laxman concluded by pledging that a BJP-led government would halt all sales of Hyderabad’s industrial lands. “We will protect public land, irrespective of who pressures us to sell,” he said.
