Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Wednesday announced a high-level land issues panel to address and resolve property-related problems across Telangana.
Reddy made a detailed statement in the Telangana Legislative Assembly on land disputes and properties prohibited under Section 22-A. He also addressed deficiencies linked to the Dharani portal.
The Chief Minister announced several decisions concerning Indiramma housing beneficiaries, people facing Dharani-related problems and residents of urban areas. The proposed committee would examine various land-related issues and work towards resolving them.

Reddy said the government had decided to provide relief to beneficiaries who received Indiramma houses built on government land. Under the rules announced by the government, beneficiaries would be allowed to sell those properties after completing a five-year lock-in period.
The registration process would be completed immediately after beneficiaries paid the prescribed registration fee and applicable Non-Agricultural Land Assessment charges, the Chief Minister said.
Reddy also explained how properties had entered the prohibited list under Section 22-A. He said the government had included the lands in 2025 using lists received from district collectors. According to the Chief Minister, the government obtained those lists following directions from the High Court.
However, complications emerged when individual survey numbers contained both government and privately owned land. As a result, registrars and revenue officials faced uncertainty while dealing with such properties. Reddy also outlined changes in the extent of land included in the prohibited properties list since the Dharani portal was introduced.
He said more than seven lakh acres had been placed on the prohibited list when Dharani was initially launched. Subsequently, government measures reduced the extent substantially. By 2026, the prohibited land had fallen to less than three lakh acres, according to the Chief Minister.
The land issues panel would form part of the government’s broader effort to address land-related grievances. The announcement came as Reddy detailed measures concerning prohibited properties, Dharani-related difficulties and housing beneficiaries before the Assembly.
