Hyderabad: Lalithakala Thoranam is hosting free movie screenings, drawing large crowds as the open-air venue comes alive in the city.
The Telangana Tourism and Culture Department is organising the screenings at the Public Gardens in Nampally. The initiative aims to revive public cultural spaces and promote community engagement.
The five-day film festival began on April 14 and will continue till April 18. Moreover, organisers are screening award-winning films daily at 6 pm on a giant LED screen.
The open-air theatre, which has a seating capacity of around 4,000, is offering a unique cinematic experience. In addition, officials said the venue provides an opportunity for families and friends to enjoy films in a relaxed outdoor setting.

The schedule includes films such as Court on April 15 and Thandel on April 16. Meanwhile, Balagam will be screened on April 17, followed by Janatha Garage on April 18.
Entry to all screenings remains free for the public. Furthermore, officials said the initiative differs from multiplex experiences by offering cinema under the open sky.
The Telangana Film Development Corporation urged residents to make use of the opportunity and attend the screenings in large numbers.
