Hyderabad: BRS working president K. T. Rama Rao on Saturday launched a fresh attack on Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, alleging a major scam linked to government contracts awarded to KLSR Infra Tech.
Through a post on X, KTR alleged that the state government had handed over contracts worth thousands of crores to KLSR Infra Tech, a company facing insolvency proceedings. According to him, awarding such works to a financially stressed firm raised serious questions and pointed to large-scale irregularities.
Reacting strongly, KTR also criticised the police action against the 75-year-old mother of businessman Saurabh Agarwal, who is pursuing a legal battle against KLSR Infra. He alleged that the arrest showed misuse of police and state machinery to intimidate those questioning the company’s dealings. Such actions, he said, amounted to a clear abuse of power.
KTR alleges misuse of power, targets Congress leadership
Referring to the company’s background, KTR alleged that KLSR Infra was a benami firm of the Chief Minister. He claimed luxury vehicles earlier used by Revanth Reddy were registered in the company’s name. He further questioned how a firm that allegedly failed to pay employee salaries and faced insolvency proceedings before the NCLAT received government works worth ₹6,000 crore.
Raising further concerns, KTR alleged attempts to influence the judiciary through intermediaries to secure favourable orders. Calling the allegations disturbing, he said they undermined public trust in institutions. He also targeted Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, questioning whether harassment of elderly persons reflected the party’s stated values.
Meanwhile, the Supreme Court has taken up a petition filed by Saurabh Agarwal in connection with the case. The petitioner has sought investigations by the CBI and the Enforcement Directorate. The controversy has sparked political debate, with references to individuals in high judicial positions becoming a subject of discussion.
