KTR slams Congress for fraudulent governance, dares Revanth to debate

Hyderabad: BRS working president K. T. Rama Rao on Tuesday accused the Congress government in Telangana of fraudulent governance, alleging it had misled every section of society by failing to honour its pre-poll commitments.

Addressing reporters at Telangana Bhavan before heading to Somajiguda Press Club, KTR said the party had questioned the government for 18 months over unfulfilled promises. He challenged Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to a debate on loan waivers, farmer bonuses, and other welfare issues, asserting the government had betrayed public trust.

KTR, accompanied by BRS MLAs and senior leaders, proceeded from Telangana Bhavan to the Press Club around 11 a.m., responding to a challenge earlier issued by Revanth Reddy on farmer welfare.

He said repeated calls for a debate had been ignored. “We asked for a discussion in the Assembly—they cut our mic. So we invited them to a debate here,” he said.

With the Chief Minister reportedly in Delhi, KTR said any cabinet minister could represent the government. “We’re ready for a debate on any day, at any venue of the CM’s choosing,” he added.

He said BRS was open to participating in the Assembly if allowed to speak without interruption.

KTR also stated that if Revanth Reddy avoided the debate, former CM K. Chandrashekar Rao would return to prove what real development meant.

Large numbers of BRS workers converged at the Somajiguda Press Club. Police deployed in strength, with transport arrangements in place to disperse the gathering if required.
