Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao on Thursday accused the Congress government of using Telangana’s bulldozer policy to unfairly target poor and marginalised citizens, while ignoring illegal buildings linked to powerful leaders.
In a post on X, Rama Rao questioned Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s silence on alleged illegal constructions built on Full Tank Level (FTL) lands by the Chief Minister’s brother and several Cabinet Ministers. His remarks followed the reported suicide attempt of an auto-rickshaw driver whose house had been demolished in Peerzadiguda.
“When will the bulldozer go after illegal buildings owned by the Chief Minister’s brother and Ministers?” KTR asked. “Is this justice only meant for the people with low-income?” He accused Gandhi of turning a blind eye to the very wrongs he claims to oppose.
Furthermore, Rama Rao blamed the Congress-led government for what he described as “criminal negligence” in managing recent disasters. He cited the SLBC tunnel collapse, the Sigachi industry blast, and widespread flooding in Hyderabad. Despite four days passing, he said, the bodies of three victims had not been found.
“The government failed to save lives or show dignity to the dead,” he said. He called the Revanth Reddy administration heartless and careless in its response.
Rama Rao also criticised recent pay cuts. HYDRAA employees now earn just ₹5,000, while teachers in minority-run institutions receive between ₹10,000 and ₹15,000. Meanwhile, he pointed out, the government spent ₹200 crore on beauty pageants.
“Is this real governance or just betrayal?” he asked. He accused the Congress of dragging the state into debt for the benefit of its leaders and close circles.
Dear @RahulGandhi
When is the Bulldozer going to illegal houses of CM brother & Cabinet Ministers who’ve built their homes in FTL lands ?
Is this Bulldozer justice selective only for the poor and the voiceless?
