Hyderabad: BRS working president KTR said he would fight the Formula E case in the courts and expressed confidence in the judiciary. He said the Hyderabad race was intended to enhance the city’s image and attract investment to Telangana.
KTR appeared before the Nampally court on Friday in connection with the Formula E case. Speaking on the occasion, he said the previous government had brought the racing event to Hyderabad with specific objectives.
He said the initiative was aimed at earning recognition for the state government, Telangana and Hyderabad. However, KTR alleged that the present government cancelled the race and filed a case against him by claiming irregularities.
KTR argued that motor racing events could help improve a city’s image and support efforts to attract investment. He referred to a recent visit by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay to London for a motor racing event.
He said neighbouring states were making efforts abroad to attract investments, including in the electric vehicle sector. KTR claimed the previous Telangana government had pursued a similar objective through the Hyderabad Formula E race.
Formula E case will face legal scrutiny, KTR says
KTR alleged that he was facing difficulties for trying to bring recognition and investment to Hyderabad and Telangana. He said the state government could create hurdles, but he remained confident about the judicial process.
The BRS leader said Friday marked his second court appearance in the Formula E case. He added that he would continue to appear whenever the court summoned him.
KTR reiterated that he had immense faith in the courts. He said he was prepared to face the proceedings and contest the case through the legal process.
