KTR calls for vigilance during SIR voter revision

Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao on Thursday called for vigilance during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Telangana. He urged party cadres to protect every vote at the booth level.

Addressing party leaders through a teleconference, KTR said cadres must remain alert throughout the SIR process. He added that they should prevent any irregularities by the Congress and the BJP.

He cautioned that both parties might misuse power to register bogus votes and manipulate voter lists. Therefore, he asked workers to closely monitor changes at the booth level.

Moreover, KTR alleged that similar issues had surfaced in other states. He claimed that lakhs of opposition votes were deleted during electoral roll revisions conducted under the Election Commission’s process.

Highlighting the risks, KTR said both the Congress and BJP may attempt similar actions in Telangana. He urged party workers to remain cautious and proactive.

He stressed that cadres must protect genuine voters and prevent the inclusion of fake or ineligible names. At the same time, he asked them to verify voter lists thoroughly.
