Hyderabad: Veteran actor Kota Srinivasa Rao was cremated at Mahaprasthanam in Jubilee Hills on Sunday, following a funeral procession from his residence in Filmnagar. Family members, fans, and prominent personalities from the film industry and politics attended the rites.
Thousands of admirers gathered outside his home for a final glimpse before the funeral procession began. The last rites were performed by his grandson, Srinivas, in the presence of close family and colleagues.
Condolences poured in from across the political spectrum. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Governor Jishnu Dev Varma, Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, Andhra Pradesh CM Nara Chandrababu Naidu, BRS chief K. Chandrashekhar Rao, BJP President Ramchander Rao, and several union and state ministers issued statements mourning Kota Srinivasa Rao’s passing.
