Hyderabad: Hyderabad District Election Officer and GHMC Commissioner R.V. Karnan reviewed the ongoing SIR notices hearing at two polling stations in Khairatabad Assembly constituency on Saturday.
Karnan visited PS Nos. 2 and 12 at Venkateshwara Community Hall in Narayanguda. He examined the arrangements and spoke with election staff managing the revision process.
The Commissioner interacted with the ERO, AEROs, BLOs, Supervisors and other personnel. He asked them to handle every case systematically and make the process citizen-friendly.
Karnan directed the staff to verify documents and claims submitted by electors carefully. He also asked them to follow the Election Commission’s prescribed guidelines throughout the hearing process.
The Commissioner stressed the need to give citizens clear information about document submission and verification. He also asked officials to ensure that eligible voters faced no inconvenience.
SIR notices hearing focuses on verification and records
During the SIR notices hearing, Karnan directed staff to maintain proper records of each case. He also asked them to scrutinise applications carefully and complete the exercise within the stipulated timelines.
Furthermore, he stressed coordination among EROs, AEROs, BLOs and Supervisors. Better coordination, he said, would support the smooth completion of the Special Intensive Revision process.
The Commissioner also reviewed the arrangements at both polling stations. He asked the election teams to maintain accuracy while examining claims and supporting documents.
Officials continued the hearing process at the designated venue. They also followed the prescribed procedures for document verification and disposal of claims.
Karnan’s inspection covered the arrangements for the ongoing revision exercise. Election staff continued their work after receiving directions on scrutiny, record-keeping and coordination.
