Hyderabad: GHMC Commissioner R.V. Karnan inspected the new Moosarambagh bridge across the Musi River on Saturday ahead of its scheduled inauguration.
The GHMC constructed the bridge at an estimated cost of Rs.52 crore. The facility aims to strengthen traffic connectivity and improve transportation for citizens.
The Moosarambagh bridge measures 400 metres in length and 14.5 metres in width. It will support smoother vehicular movement across the Musi River.
The bridge also includes 3.5-metre-wide footpaths. These footpaths will provide pedestrians with safer and more convenient access across the river.
Karnan inspected the bridge, its approach roads and associated infrastructure. He also reviewed the arrangements required before the facility opens to traffic.
Moosarambagh bridge gets final safety checks
During the inspection, Karnan directed officials to complete all remaining works before the inauguration. He specifically reviewed road approaches, safety arrangements, lighting and pedestrian facilities.
Officials must also finish other allied and finishing works to the required standards. Karnan stressed coordination among the departments involved in the project.
The Moosarambagh bridge is expected to improve connectivity between Amberpet and Moosarambagh. It is also expected to reduce travel time and ease congestion on existing routes.
Karnan instructed the concerned officials to complete pending works on priority. He also directed them to ensure a smooth and safe opening of the facility for the public.
The GHMC is completing the remaining works ahead of the scheduled inauguration.
