Hyderabad: District in-charge Minister Danasari Anasuya Seethakka on Tuesday laid the foundation stone for a Rs 5 crore Kamareddy school building project. The new facility would replace the existing structure of the Zilla Parishad Boys High School in Kamareddy.
Telangana Government Advisor and former minister Mohammed Ali Shabbir attended the foundation ceremony. Zaheerabad MP Suresh Kumar Shetkar and Jukkal MLA Thota Laxmi Kantha Rao also participated.
Shabbir, an alumnus of the school, recalled his student days and pledged additional personal assistance for its development. He said he had studied at the school in 1971. According to Shabbir, the institution had played an important role in shaping his personal life and public journey.
“This is the school where I studied. It is not merely an educational institution for me, but the place where the foundation of my life was laid,” he said. “My journey began here, and I have always wanted to contribute something meaningful to this school,” he added.
Kamareddy school building to get modern facilities
Shabbir said the new Kamareddy school building would provide upgraded infrastructure and modern educational facilities to students. The existing structure would be replaced with a modern building equipped with improved classrooms. The project would also include digital learning facilities, computer labs, laboratories and other essential infrastructure.
Shabbir said he had brought the school’s infrastructure requirements to the attention of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy. He added that he had made special efforts to secure Rs 5 crore from the government for the school’s development.
Besides the sanctioned government funding, Shabbir offered to provide personal assistance wherever additional support was required. Recalling his association with the institution, he said people rarely forgot their teachers, classmates and school memories regardless of their achievements later in life.
Shabbir described his return to the campus as a memorable experience. During the programme, he interacted with former classmates, teachers, alumni and current students. “The building may change, but the memories this school gave me will never change,” he said.

Shabbir expressed hope that students studying at the school would build successful careers and reach greater heights. He also urged them to contribute to their school and society after establishing themselves in their chosen fields.
“We remain indebted to the schools that educated us,” Shabbir said. “Even if we cannot repay that debt completely, every former student has a responsibility to contribute whatever they can,” he added.
The foundation ceremony brought together public representatives, Congress leaders and government officials. Teachers, alumni, students and parents also attended the programme. The Rs 5 crore Kamareddy school building project would provide the Zilla Parishad Boys High School with upgraded academic and digital infrastructure.
