Kamareddy bus accident kills TGSRTC driver, injures passengers

Hyderabad: A TGSRTC driver was killed and several passengers were injured in a Kamareddy bus accident early Friday after a Hyderabad–Bichkunda service overturned near Jukkal X Road.

The bus was carrying 13 passengers when it reportedly lost control at high speed. It then hit the wall of a roadside culvert before overturning.

The impact badly damaged the front portion of the bus. As a result, driver Anjaneyulu became trapped inside the wreckage and died on the spot.

Police began examining whether driver drowsiness or a technical fault had caused the accident. However, investigators had not established the exact cause.

Kamareddy bus accident triggers rescue operation

Banswada DSP and his team rushed to the accident site and started rescue operations. A crane was used to retrieve Anjaneyulu’s body from the damaged bus.

Meanwhile, the injured passengers were shifted to Bichkunda Government Hospital for treatment.

Police registered a case following the Kamareddy bus accident and launched an investigation. Officials also began examining the circumstances in which the bus lost control.

Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar expressed deep anguish over the incident. He spoke with the TGSRTC Managing Director, District Collector and Superintendent of Police to review the situation.

The Minister also conveyed condolences to the family of the deceased driver.

Kamareddy bus accident probe ordered

Ponnam Prabhakar directed officials to ensure that the injured passengers received quality medical treatment. He also asked the authorities to provide all necessary assistance to the victims and their families.

In addition, the Minister instructed officials to determine the exact circumstances that led to the crash.
