Collector directs timely completion of Indiramma houses

Hyderabad: District Collector Garima Agrawal directed officials to complete Indiramma houses within the stipulated deadline in line with the approved action plan. She asked field-level officials to closely monitor construction works and ensure faster progress.

The Collector issued the directions during a teleconference on Thursday with Housing Department officials, municipal commissioners, MPDOs and other departmental officers. She reviewed the progress of Indiramma houses across the district, including Sirisilla and Vemulawada municipalities, and sought details of sanctioned, ongoing and completed houses.

Garima Agrawal said the state government was implementing the Indiramma housing scheme transparently to fulfil the dream of home ownership for poor families. She instructed officials to ensure that houses are sanctioned only to genuinely eligible beneficiaries living in huts and temporary sheds.

Indiramma houses review focuses on faster construction

The Collector directed officials to prepare an action plan for the early completion of Indiramma houses so that beneficiaries could perform housewarming ceremonies without delay.

She instructed municipal commissioners, MPDOs and Assistant Engineers to conduct daily field visits, guide beneficiaries and accelerate construction activities. She also asked officials to avoid delays in the sanction process and extend housing approvals to eligible beneficiaries willing to construct houses under the second phase of the scheme.

Later, Garima Agrawal reviewed the arrangements for Van Mahotsavam. She instructed officials to complete preparations for plantation drives across the district in line with the targets. She also directed them to ensure adequate availability of saplings and complete pit digging in advance.

Housing Project Director Venkata Madhava Rao, DRDO Lakshminarayana, DPO Jayasheela and officials from various departments participated in the teleconference.
