Hyderabad Police conduct women safety awareness drive across city

Hyderabad: A women safety awareness drive was conducted across Hyderabad on Saturday as part of the state government’s “Praja Palana – Pragati Pranalika” 99-day campaign.

The Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) of the Women and Child Safety Wing organised awareness programmes at multiple locations across the city.

Officials conducted the programmes under the supervision of the DCP, Women and Child Safety Wing. ACPs from the AHTU and Juvenile Bureau units also monitored the activities.

The awareness campaign covered Borabanda Basti, Rahmath Nagar, Osmania General Hospital and Chowmahalla Palace.

Women safety awareness drive focuses on cyber safety

During the campaign, officials educated people about gender sensitivity and child safety.

They also explained different forms of violence against women and children.

The teams highlighted precautions people should take while using social media.

Officials also explained ways to stay safe from cyber crimes.

In addition, they created awareness about the dangers of human trafficking.

They informed citizens about measures available to prevent such crimes.

Officials encouraged people to report incidents without fear.

They urged citizens to seek help whenever required.

Participants received information about emergency helplines.

Police assistance is available through 100 and 112.

Citizens can report cyber crimes through 1930.

The Child Helpline can be reached at 1098.

The Women and Child Safety Wing said it would continue conducting awareness programmes across the city.

The wing said the initiative aims to improve public awareness and encourage timely reporting of crimes.
