Hyderabad Ganesh festivities to remain under continuous monitoring: Revanth Reddy
Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy directed municipal and police authorities to continuously monitor Hyderabad Ganesh festivities until their conclusion and ensure close coordination among departments.
He also ordered the appointment of special officers to oversee and coordinate festival arrangements. Moreover, he directed officials to establish a dedicated control room at the Command Control Centre for monitoring the festivities.
Revanth Reddy issued the directions during a high-level review of Ganesh festival arrangements in Hyderabad. The meeting was held at the Council meeting hall on the Legislative Assembly premises.
Ministers Ponnam Prabhakar and Mohammed Azharuddin attended the review. MP Vem Narender Reddy and public representatives from the city also participated.
Senior officials from GHMC, Cyberabad, Malkajgiri, Hyderabad Police and HYDRAA attended the meeting. Other senior police officers and representatives of Ganesh festival committees were also present.
Hyderabad Ganesh festivities require close coordination
Revanth Reddy said Hyderabad’s peaceful environment was important for attracting investments. Therefore, he asked authorities to ensure that law and order remained undisturbed during Hyderabad Ganesh festivities.
The Chief Minister also sought cooperation from organisers to ensure the celebrations and immersion process proceeded smoothly. He assured organisers that the government was prepared to address any problems connected with the festivities.
Revanth Reddy said his government had restored the previous tradition concerning Ganesh celebrations after coming to power. He added that he was personally conducting the review to understand the problems faced by organisers.
Revanth Reddy also asked organisers to inform their local police commissionerate when guests were invited to Ganesh pandals.
He said advance information would help authorities take necessary precautionary measures. Furthermore, the details would help officials respond effectively if unexpected developments occurred during such visits.
The Chief Minister said Telangana was providing free electricity to Ganesh pandals in a manner not available elsewhere in the country. However, organisers had to apply to the authorities concerned to receive the free power facility.
He also asked organisers to provide advance information about locations where Ganesh pandals would be established. Such information would help police plan traffic management and security arrangements, he said.
Hyderabad Ganesh festivities focus on smooth immersion
Revanth Reddy directed officials to incorporate requirements for Ganesh immersion while developing lakes in and around the city.
He said authorities should make such provisions during construction itself. Similar arrangements had been made for Bathukamma celebrations at lakes undergoing development, he added.
The Chief Minister also focused on arrangements required for the immersion process. He directed officials to ensure that adequate space and infrastructure were available around lakes for positioning cranes.
The arrangements should enable cranes to operate effectively during Ganesh immersion, he said. Consequently, officials were asked to plan the infrastructure in advance rather than make temporary arrangements during the immersion period.
The government sought coordinated action from civic agencies, police authorities and festival organisers throughout the celebrations. The dedicated control room at the Command Control Centre would support monitoring and coordination during the Hyderabad Ganesh festivities.
Revanth Reddy asked all agencies to maintain vigilance until the festival concluded. He stressed traffic management, security, immersion infrastructure and advance communication between organisers and authorities.
