HR manager booked for sexual harassment at Hyderabad firm

Hyderabad: Jubilee Hills police registered a case against an HR manager of a private firm for allegedly sexually harassing a female colleague by misusing his official position. The accused, identified as Swami Reddy, faces charges under the POSH Act and relevant criminal laws. The Hyderabad HR manager in question has come under scrutiny due to the severity of the allegations.

Woman alleges sustained harassment, abuse of authority

According to the woman’s complaint, Swami Reddy had been repeatedly making inappropriate advances and pressuring her to accompany him to pubs and private outings. She alleged that he used his position as a Hyderabad HR manager in the company to intimidate her, warning of professional consequences if she refused.

She further stated that during an earlier company-organised trip, the accused attempted to coerce her and behaved indecently. After she resisted, the Hyderabad HR manager allegedly began targeting her professionally by demoting her and humiliating her in front of colleagues.

The complainant said the harassment affected her dignity and mental well-being, prompting her to file a formal complaint against the Hyderabad HR manager.

Police register case, begin investigation

Jubilee Hills police confirmed that they have booked Swami Reddy under the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, along with relevant sections of the IPC. An investigation is underway.
