Hyderabad: BRS MLA and former minister T. Harish Rao on Monday claimed his party would reclaim political ground in the upcoming local body elections, asserting that recent surveys projected BRS victories in 16 out of Telangana’s 31 Zilla Parishads.
Addressing a party meeting in Pragyapur with leaders from Gajwel constituency, Rao declared the pink flag would fly high once again, urging cadres to gear up for a direct fight with the Congress. He accused the Revanth Reddy-led government of failing farmers and rural communities across the state.
Rao alleged that farmers now face fertiliser shortages and bureaucratic delays, in contrast to the streamlined access during BRS rule. He questioned the non-disbursement of Rythu Bharosa benefits and criticised the failure to release water from the Kaleshwaram project into Mallanna Sagar.
He said villages lacked basic sanitation and claimed land values were collapsing under Congress misrule, with farmers selling two acres in Telangana to buy one in Andhra Pradesh.
Rao also attacked the Congress for failing to meet its employment promise, alleging that only 12,000 jobs were provided against the promised 2 lakh, while the previous BRS government had generated 1.6 lakh jobs.
