Hyderabad: BRS senior leader and Siddipet MLA T. Harish Rao on Wednesday launched a direct attack on Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, accusing him of arrogance and misinformation, and warned that the public would not tolerate such behaviour.
Speaking at Telangana Bhavan, Harish Rao said that while the office of the Chief Minister is respected by all, Revanth Reddy had demeaned it by “lying blatantly” both in opposition and now in power. “This arrogance will push you to the ground,” he said.
He criticised the CM for allegedly presenting manipulated facts in a recent Congress meeting at Pragathi Bhavan, where only Congress MLAs were invited. Officials from the secretariat and irrigation department participated in that session, raising doubts, Rao said, about the impartiality and origin of the presentation. “It looked more like an Amaravati-style briefing than one prepared by the Telangana government,” he remarked.
Rao questioned why issues such as Kaleshwaram, Palamuru, Dindi, and Tummilla lift schemes allegedly obstructed by Chandrababu Naidu were not included in the presentation. “If you truly intend to halt Banakacharla, show us the letters sent by Andhra Pradesh or Chandrababu to the Centre or Jal Shakti ministry. But your presentation had no mention of them,” he said.
He accused Revanth Reddy of seeing BRS as a “dead snake” while treating Chandrababu Naidu as “golden,” and challenged him for repeatedly invoking KCR’s name in every speech. “Even in your sleep, the pink flag haunts you,” Rao remarked.
Calling the Congress a declining party with no presence in several state assemblies or Parliament seats, Rao said that losing deposits in elections under Revanth’s leadership was no sign of revival. He added that despite Revanth Reddy’s position, BRS still managed to win MLC elections in his own district of Mahabubnagar.
