Harish Rao slams Revanth Reddy, accuses Congress govt of irrigation failures

Hyderabad: Former Telangana Minister and BRS leader T. Harish Rao on Monday accused Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy of failing to deliver on major promises, especially in the irrigation sector, even after two years in office. In fact, Harish Rao accuses Revanth of major shortcomings that affect the state’s development.

Speaking at Telangana Bhavan, Harish Rao said the Congress government had destroyed key infrastructure built under the previous BRS regime. “Revanth Reddy has done nothing except demolish what we built,” he stated.

Irrigation claims questioned

Harish Rao challenged Revanth Reddy’s claim of irrigating 11.6 lakh acres. “Did you even manage 11,000 acres?” he asked, demanding proof. Harish Rao accuses Revanth by saying BRS achieved more, with 17.24 lakh acres newly irrigated and 31 lakh acres stabilised during their rule.

Vattem and SLBC incidents criticised

The BRS leader accused the government of negligence in submerging the Vattem pump house and mishandling the Srisailam Left Bank Canal (SLBC) collapse. Rao’s accusations against Revanth also include allegations that authorities failed to recover the victims’ bodies and didn’t even file FIRs, calling it a serious lapse.

Demands for accountability

Harish Rao demanded the Chief Minister back his statements with data or apologise to the public. Rao went further, accusing Revanth of avoiding responsibility and focusing on rhetoric instead of real action.
