Hyderabad: H-FAST inspections uncovered serious hygiene violations at a Zepto store in Mallepally and detected rotten chicken at a food outlet in Secunderabad during separate enforcement drives. Officials initiated action against both establishments for violating food safety norms.
A team led by H-FAST Sub-Inspector V. Akhil inspected the Zepto store in Mallepally. During the inspection, officials found evidence of cockroach and rodent infestation, raising concerns over food safety standards.
The team later handed over the case to Hyderabad Municipal Corporation Food Safety Officer Sameena Begum for further action under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006.
H-FAST inspections expose food safety violations
In another operation, H-FAST Sub-Inspector P. Abhilash, accompanied by GHMC Veterinary Doctor Vasu, raided Eagle Fisheries in Secunderabad. The team detected the storage and sale of rotten chicken at the establishment.
Officials apprehended the accused and referred the case to the Veterinary Department for further action. They also imposed a fine of ₹3,000 on the establishment.
