Goshamahal Police arrest habitual offender in SATTA betting case

Hyderabad: Goshamahal Police arrested a habitual offender in a SATTA betting case during a foot patrol on April 30. Officers caught K. Kailash Singh near his shop in Jummerath Bazar, Dhoolpet. He allegedly tried to flee after noticing the police team.

Police said Singh behaved suspiciously during the patrol. Officers intercepted him and questioned him on the spot. During interrogation, he allegedly admitted to running illegal SATTA betting activities through WhatsApp.

Investigators said Singh collected wagers from punters and forwarded them to his associates through digital platforms. Police identified the other accused as Arjun, Kaleram, Manoj and Lakhan. All four remained absconding.

SATTA betting case linked to WhatsApp operations

Police seized cash, SATTA chits and a mobile phone allegedly used for betting operations. Officers conducted the seizure under a panchanama.

Police registered Crime No. 153/2026 under Section 9 of the Telangana State Gaming Act and Section 112 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita in the case.

Investigators said Singh was a repeat offender with several earlier cases linked to similar offences. Police teams continued efforts to trace the remaining accused connected to the betting network.
