Governor says Goa and Sikkim reflect India’s cultural diversity

Hyderabad: Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla said Goa and Sikkim reflect India’s rich cultural diversity and contribute significantly to the country’s national identity.

He made the remarks during the Statehood Day celebrations held at Lok Bhavan on Saturday. Members of both communities residing in Telangana attended the programme.

The Governor attended the event along with his wife, Janaki Shukla.

Addressing the gathering, Shukla said the ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ initiative continues to strengthen national integration and deepen understanding among states.

He noted that Goa is known worldwide for its natural beauty and unique cultural heritage. Meanwhile, Sikkim is recognised for its peace, spirituality and scenic landscapes.

According to the Governor, both states showcase India’s cultural richness and enhance the country’s collective pride.

Goa and Sikkim celebrated at Lok Bhavan

The Governor extended greetings to residents from the two states living in Telangana. He also urged citizens to strengthen the values of national unity, integrity and social harmony.

During the programme, organisers displayed messages from the Governors of the two states on a digital screen.

Cultural performances formed a key part of the celebrations and received appreciation from the audience.

Special Chief Secretary to the Governor M. Dana Kishore, Joint Secretary Shashikiran Achari and other officials attended the event.
